Sambalpur, June 24: Odisha Vigilance has arrested Padmalochan Nayak, Executive Engineer of CADA, Sambalpur Division, in connection with a disproportionate assets (DA) case. He is being produced before the Court of the Special Judge, Vigilance, Sambalpur on Wednesday.
During simultaneous searches conducted at properties linked to Nayak, Vigilance officials allegedly unearthed assets disproportionate to his known sources of income. The assets include three buildings, including a multi-storeyed building spread over 18,840 sq ft at Cuttack, 18 valuable plots, cash worth Rs 3.45 lakh, three four-wheelers, two JCB machines, a tractor, a trailer and other assets.
According to Vigilance, Nayak failed to provide a satisfactory explanation regarding the acquisition of these properties and assets.
Following the detection of the alleged disproportionate assets, Sambalpur Vigilance Police Station Case No. 07/2026 has been registered against him under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2018.
Further investigation into the case is underway.
