Bhubaneswar, Nov 4: The Odisha Vigilance officials have arrested Gocchapada Junior Engineer Ashok Padhi on charges of accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000.
The JE of Gocchapada under Phiringia block was caught in the act today.
According to the allegations, JE Padhi demanded the bribe from a contractor - Raghunath Mahakud to facilitate the release of bill. The Vigilance team apprehended him while accepting the money red handed at his government residence.
Investigations are underway, with multiple locations being searched to assess Padhi's assets and uncover the extent of the corruption.
