Odisha: Two killed, minor boy critical as bike rams into tree in Kalahandi

Kalahandi, June 17: In a tragic incident, as many as two persons were killed and another sustained critical injuries after their bike rammed into a tree near Depur on the Kalampur-Junagarh main road in Odisha’s Kalahandi district late last night.

The deceased persons have been identified as Rohit Patel of Paruaguda and Ajay Majhi of Mahulpada.

As per reports, the mishap occurred when the trio was on their way to Munduraguda village on their bike when the vehicle went out of control and rammed into a tree. While Rohit and Ajay died on the spot, Lakhmikant Majhi, a 14-year-old boy, sustained critical injuries in the mishap.

The injured boy was initially rushed to Kalampur Community Health Centre (CHC) and later shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) as his health condition deteriorated.

Upon getting the information, police arrived at the spot and seized the bodies of the victims. Subsequently, they were sent for post-mortem.

Further investigation into the matter was underway.
