Bhubaneswar, Mar 7: Internationally acclaimed sand artist and Padma Shri Awardee Sudarshan Pattnaik on Wednesday created a sand sculpture to promote ‘Jan Aushadhi Diwas’ at Odisha’s Puri Beach.

With an aim to spread awareness among the people about the importance of Jan Aushadhi centres across the country, Patnaik worked for six hours to create the sand sculpture.

Taking to his official ‘X’ handle, Pattnaik shared the pictures of his sand art and wrote, “This Jan Aushadhi Diwas 2025, let’s come together to spread the message of affordable and quality healthcare for all! Grateful to our Hon'ble PM @narendramodi Ji for this revolutionary initiative transforming the nation’s healthcare and helping millions of people across the country. My sand art at Puri beach On #JanAushadhiDiwas.”

It is worth mentioning that ‘Jan Aushadhi Diwas’ is observed on March 7 to spread awareness about the Pradhan Mantri Bharatiya Jan Aushadhi Pariyojana and encourage the use of high-quality generic medicines.

The initiative aims to make affordable healthcare accessible through Jan Aushadhi Kendras, which have been established across various districts and states in the country.
