Bhubaneswar, May 11: Odisha reeled under an intense heatwave on Sunday, with temperatures soaring above 40 degrees Celsius in 19 locations across the state, according to the Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre.
Sambalpur experienced the hottest spot, recording a sweltering 43.2°C. It was closely followed by Titlagarh at 42.5°C and Bolangir at 42°C.
Several other regions also faced severe heat conditions, including Sundargarh (41.8°C), Angul (41.7°C), and both Jharsuguda and Hirakud at 41.6°C each, the weather bulletin reported.
