Bhubaneswar, Oct 10: While Odisha Police is almost jumbled up in picking the taproot of the Odisha Police SI recruitment scam, the Crime Branch on Friday grilled as many as three officials of Vanik Coaching Centre, a pre-job education provider situated at the CRPF Square in Bhubaneswar.
The HR manager, Admin manager, and Accounts head of the Vanik Coaching Center, were grilled for hours by the Crime Branch team today, in order to rule out their connivance in the high-profile recruitment scam, ever seen in government’s mass employment drive that too in Odisha Police.
The three key officials were earlier summoned by the investigating agency on Thursday following a surprise raid on Vanik’s Bhubaneswar establishment.
According to sources, the summoned officials of Vanik Coaching Centre appeared before the Crime Branch and deposed their statements before the sleuths.
Earlier, a three-member team led by Crime Branch DSP Narendra Behera conducted a frantic search operation at the centre with verifying the enrolment records, invoice and computer hard disks.Upon getting some significant clues, the team seized some vital documents related to a number of candidates who were preparing for the competitive exams.
Worth mentioning, the Crime Branch investigation on the SI recruitment scam pointed towards the professional coaching center as the sleuths found that, scores of SI aspirants who were nabbed in Vizianagaram, were verified to have enrolled in Vanik, Bhubaneswar center.
