Boudh, August 14: An Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of Odisha Police was arrested on Thursday for allegedly raping a Home Guard’s wife.
The incident yet stained the Khakhi after the ASI, Kotagada Police Station was forwarded to court, for sexually assaulting a fellow’s spouse.
The accused has been identified as Sruti Sagar Samal.
According to reports, ASI Samal was allegedly harassing a home guard, identified as Abhiram Mahananda’s wife while he was serving in the Gochhapada PS.
The victim after briefing her ordeal to her husband moved police and filed a complaint with the Gochhapada Police.
Acting on it, the police registered a case in this connection and arrested the accused ASI today.
As the bail pleas of the accused were rejected by the court, the tinted ASI was remanded to Judicial custody, the Investigating Officer(IO) said.
