Peon Hacked to Death in Odisha’s Sundargarh

Sundargarh, Aug 18: In a gruesome incident, a peon of the Works Department in Rajgangpur locality of Odisha’s Sundargarh district was on Monday hacked to death by a man.

The deceased has been identified as Manglu Kisan.

As per reports, the incident occurred at around 11 AM when the accused, whose identity has not been disclosed yet, attacked the peon with a sharp-edged weapon and slit his throat. He sustained grievous injuries in the attack and died on the spot.

The accused also threatened the people who were nearby and attempted to intervene.

Upon getting the information, Rajgangpur police arrived at the scene and overpowered the accused before arresting him.

The cops also seized the deceased’s body and sent it for post-mortem.

Further investigation into the matter is underway.
