Odisha para shuttlers shines in Junior and Youth National meet

Bhubaneswar: Team Odisha displayed outstanding performances at the 2nd Junior and Youth National Para Badminton Championships 2025 held at Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, from 8th to 10th September 2025. The young shuttlers brought pride to the state by winning a total of nine medals including one gold, three silver and five bronze medals.

 

This remarkable achievement highlights the growing strength of para-badminton in Odisha and the dedication of the players, coaches, and support staff. The performances of Bibhasindhu Barik and Rani Gardia were particularly inspiring, as they contributed multiple medals for the state.

 

The Para Sports Association of Odisha congratulated all the medal winners and expressed gratitude to Team Coaches Amarendra Behera and Pratik Behera, who guided and motivated the Odisha Junior team throughout the championship. The association assured continued support in grooming young talent for future national and international championships.

 

Medal winners: Gold: In SL3 SL4 men’s doubles; Bibhasindhu Barik (Odisha) with Kartik Suhag (Haryana).

 

Silver: Soumyaranjan Mahakul (in U-17, SL-3 singles), Bibhasindhu Barik (U-19, SL-3 singles), Rani Gardia (U-19 Girls SL-4 & SU-5).

 

Bronze: Soumyakanta Mahakul (in U-19, SL-3 singles), Akash Ranjan Mund (Youth SL-3 singles), Bibhasindhu Barik & Pranay Seth (Rajasthan) in Youth Doubles (SL-3 & SL-4), Ajay Kumar Pradhan & Pyla Ganesh (Andhra Pradesh) in U-19 Doubles (SU-5). Rani Gardia in Youth SU-5. ​​​​​​​
