Bhubaneswar, September 5: The Odisha Uniformed Services Staff Selection Commission (OUSSSC) on Saturday said that it has initiated the process for recruitment to Constable-level posts and services under Odisha Police and other Departments, said an official release.
According to an OUSSSC release, the detailed advertisement in this regard, containing the relevant information regarding vacancies, eligibility, selection process and other conditions, will be issued shortly.
The Commission further informed that necessary steps were being taken on priority for expediting the examination process for the Combined Police Services Examination (CPSE)-2024, for which applications have already been received.
The CPSE-2024 for recruitment of Sub-Inspectors (SIs), was cancelled last year due to an alleged question paper leak.

“The Commission is conscious of the considerable interest and apprehension among candidates regarding the recruitment and examination process. It is, therefore, reiterated that the Commission is taking all necessary preparatory measures to ensure that the examination process is conducted smoothly, fairly, transparently and in a secure manner, in accordance with the prescribed rules and procedures,” said an OUSSSC release.
“Candidates who have already applied for CPSE-2024 are advised to remain prepared for the ensuing examination and keep themselves updated through the official communication of the Commission,” it said.
The Commission will communicate all important information, including the examination schedule and other necessary instructions as and when the same is finalised through authorised and official channels as well as on its website which will be live shortly.
“Candidates are, therefore, requested to remain alert, continue their preparation and await official communication from the Commission. The Commission is making concerted efforts to take the recruitment and examination processes forward at the earliest, while ensuring that the interests of the candidates and the sanctity of the examination process are duly safeguarded,” it urged.
Meanwhile, BJD president and former Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday demanded immediate re-conduct of the Combined Police Service Examination, cancelled due to alleged irregularities and paper leaks last year.
