Bhubaneswar, Sept 7: Leader of the Opposition in Odisha Assembly and Biju Janata Dal (BJD) President Naveen Patnaik on Sunday embarked on a four-day visit to New Delhi.
Patnaik's visit has sparked widespread speculation about crucial meetings ahead of the Vice-Presidential election, scheduled for September 9.
As per reports, Patnaik's visit to Delhi is primarily aimed at consulting with BJD’s Rajya Sabha members ahead of the Vice-Presidential election.
The party’s position on the election is still unclear, with some speculating that the BJD may support the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidate.
Though the BJD has not made any confirmation, rumors suggest a possible meeting between Naveen Patnaik and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The party’s stance in the Vice-Presidential election could have a major influence on the outcome, given its seven seats in the Rajya Sabha.
