Angul, Aug 17: In a gruesome incident, a 35-year-old man was allegedly thrashed to death by his neighbors following a heated argument in Raniguda village under Angul Town police limits in Odisha.
The deceased has been identified as Bapi Biswal.
As per reports, the incident occurred late last night when Biswal got into a heated argument with two brothers, who are his neighbors. What began as a verbal exchange quickly escalated into a violent confrontation.
The two brothers reportedly attacked Biswal with such force that he collapsed instantly. Eyewitnesses claimed the assault was brutal and merciless.
Shortly after, locals alerted the police, who arrived at the scene and quickly rushed Biswal to Angul District Headquarters Hospital (DHH). Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
The exact reason for the attack on Biswal is still unclear, but his family believes it was due to ongoing disputes with the accused. Biswal's mother told the police that old enmity led the neighbors to attack her son brutally.
As of now, the two brothers accused of the crime are still on the run, and no arrests have been made.
Police teams arrived in Raniguda shortly after the incident and started their initial investigation.
Tension was high on Sunday morning as villagers gathered outside his home, demanding quick police action and justice for the family. Police have deployed extra teams to the village to maintain peace.
