Puri, Aug 24: A man sustained critical injuries after his SUV plunged from the first floor of the Jagannath Ballav multi-level car parking facility in Puri on Sunday.
As per reports, the driver, a resident of the Dhamara area, lost control while reversing into a parking space. The SUV, in reverse gear, swerved off the edge of the first floor due to the lack of a guard wall and plummeted to the ground.
Eyewitnesses said that the vehicle seemed to lose balance during the maneuver. Hearing a loud crash, locals quickly rushed to the scene and rescued the driver from the wreckage.
He was rushed to the Puri District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) in critical condition and is currently undergoing treatment.
