Bhubaneswar, October 1: Housing & Urban Development Minister Dr. Krushna Chandra Mahapatra on Thursday chaired a high-level meeting to review the progress of various projects undertaken by the Water Corporation of Odisha (WATCO).
WATCO Managing Director Debabrata Mohanty presented the status of ongoing water supply and sewerage projects, including Water Treatment Plants (WTPs) and Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs), along with their physical and financial progress.
The Minister stressed timely completion of projects, effective utilisation of funds, quality of work and improved service delivery. The meeting also discussed the transfer of sewerage works from WATCO to the Odisha Water Supply and Sewerage Board (OWSSB), and arrangements for newly constituted NACs.
Officials also reviewed the upcoming SUJAL IEC campaign scheduled from October 2 to 16, which will focus on public awareness, responsible water use and citizen participation.
Dr. Mahapatra directed officials to closely monitor projects, resolve implementation bottlenecks and ensure better coordination among agencies.
