Bhubaneswar, June 23: The Odisha government will prepare a revised Detailed Project Report (DPR) for infrastructure development at the Tara Tarini temple in Ganjam district.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has directed officials to draft the updated DPR for the hilltop shrine, located in the Purushottampur block.
During a state-level youth convention held in Aska in Ganjam, the Chief Minister laid the foundation stones for various development projects in the district, amounting to ₹550 crore.
Speaking at the event, Majhi highlighted the state’s vision for youth empowerment and economic growth.
“Odisha is on the brink of a golden era, with immense opportunities emerging across multiple sectors. The youth will be at the heart of this transformation,” he said.
The Chief Minister reiterated the state’s economic goals—achieving a $500 billion economy by 2036, coinciding with the centenary of Odisha's formation, and reaching $1.5 trillion by 2047, the 100th year of India’s independence.
Majhi also announced plans to allocate land in Polasara, Ganjam, for the establishment of a world-class training institute. Citing data that approximately 1.7 crore people in Odisha are aged between 15 and 35, he emphasized the government’s commitment to preparing a strategic roadmap for their development.
In a boost to education and employment, the Chief Minister said the state has implemented 11.25% reservation in higher education for students from the Socially and Educationally Backward Classes (SEBC). Over the past year, 28,346 youths have secured government jobs, and industrial projects worth over ₹1.8 lakh crore have been initiated—expected to generate around 1.1 lakh new jobs across the state.
