Bhubaneswar, July 13: Odisha government is all set to implement amended Rights of children to Free & Compulsory Education Rule (2025) in Class V & VIII, from the coming session.
The Odisha School & Mass Education department issued gazette notification in this connection.
According to the new provision, Pass-fail system will be introduced shortly for students of Class V & VIII in both government and private schools whereas Annual Exam will be the yardstick for class promotion. However, re-exam will be allowed for the poor performers and unsuccessful learners within a period of two months with special & remedial guidance to them.
In a significant reform initiated in the elementary education policy, the Odisha government announced reintroduction of the pass/fails system for Class V &VIII.The new policy will be introduced from Academic year 2025-26, said the notification.
