Bhubaneswar, June 2: Odisha Higher Education Department on Monday extended the deadline for submitting the Common Application Form (CAF) for +3 (undergraduate) admissions until June 4, 2025.
The students can submit the forms through the Student Academic Management System (SAMS) portal.
According to the official notification, students can now apply until June 4, 11:45 pm, through the Student Academic Management System (SAMS) portal giving them some extra time if they are waiting for exam results or need to upload documents.
The original deadline of June 1 has been extended by three days after requests from students and parents.
Notably, the CAF is a required part of the centralized admission process through Odisha's SAMS. It includes personal details, course and college choices, and the upload of +2 marksheets. Since many students are still waiting for their results or facing internet issues, the extension gives them extra time to complete and review their submissions.
This decision follows similar extensions made in May, when the deadline was first moved to June 1. The department had explained that the ongoing +2 evaluation process was the reason for giving students more time.
Earlier this month, Higher Education Minister Suryabanshi Suraj confirmed that Plus 3 classes will start on July 15, after all the admission processes are finished.
The government has reportedly taken steps to prevent the delays that happened last year when students missed their first semester due to administrative issues.
To make the admission process smoother, the third phase of +3 admissions will stay open until the second-phase +2 results are declared. After the results are announced, applicants will have 10 days to upload their marks, plus an extra 10-day grace period to complete the required documentation.
