Odisha government has launched 45 prime welfare schemes utilizing state funds

Bhubaneswar, Nov 23: The Odisha government has been managing at least 45 welfare schemes since 2001 from its state funds.

Minister for Planning & Coordination Rajendra Dholkia revealed it in the Odisha Assembly on Thursday.

Responding to a question raised by BJP MLA Mukesh Mahaling, Dholkia said state initiated welfare schemes are implemented and reviewed through the concerned departments. Impact Assessment reports are also complied by the departments. Apart from it, the PPOMU of the Finance department in collaboration with the Evaluation Cell of the Planning & Coordination department prepares the Impact Assessment of some key schemes.

Presenting the list of the welfare projects worked out by the state government so far, Dholkia said, among other development programmes, the Mukshyamantri Swasthya Seva Yojna, Madhubabu Pension Scheme and Umbrella Scheme Chief Minister Power Development Programme (CMECP) have been implemented with budgetary allocations of Rs 3003 crore, Rs 2501.26 crore and Rs 1446.46 crore respectively.
