Bhubaneswar, May 31: At a time when Covid-19 cases are on the rise across the globe, an elderly man in Odisha reportedly lost his life to the fatal disease on Saturday.
With the new tally, Odisha witnessed its first Covid-19-related death in 2025, said sources.
The glim incident occurred in Bhubaneswar, where a person who had recently tested positive for Covid-19 succumbed to the illness.
As per reports, the deceased was tested Corona positive along with multiple comorbidities. He was undergoing treatment at home. After the Covid 19 infection his health condition reportedly worsened for which he needed medical interventions. However, he breathed his last today during homecare, said sources.
No comments on it could be obtained from the Health Department or the deceased's family so far. Thus, it is yet to be ascertained if the death of the elderly person was triggered by Covid-19 virus or other pre-existing ailments.
