Bhubaneswar, July 27: A goods train carrying coal derailed between Sikir and Titlagarh stations in Sambalpur Division of East Coast Railway (ECoR) on Monday.
According to the ECoR, there is no report of any casualty or injury in the incident.
The incident took place near at 11.23 AM today when the rear trolley wheel of the 14th loaded wagon from the locomotive derailed.
“The incident occurred at about 11:23 hrs when the rear trolley wheel of the 14th loaded wagon from the locomotive derailed. There has been no casualty or injury in the incident,” the ECoR statement stated.
Immediately after the derailment, senior railway officials rushed to the site. Accident Relief Train from Kantabanji rushed to the site and restoration work is in progress on a war footing, it added.
Passenger train movement remains unaffected. East Coast Railway is making all efforts to restore normal train operations at the earliest, the ECoR asserted.
