Rayagada, May 30: Miscreants allegedly looted gold and silver jewellery along with Rs 10 lakh in cash from the house of a businessman in Odisha’s Rayagada town in the wee hours of Friday.

As per reports, the burglars broke into the residence of Subrata Pati, owner of Hotel Kailash in New Colony of Rayagada, late last night through the back door by cutting the grill.
While the residents were in the front portion of the house, the looters broke open two almirahs and decamped with Rs 10 lakh cash, approximately 20 tolas of gold jewellery, and over two kilograms of silver items.
After learning about the loot, Pati alerted the police. Upon getting the information, police along with a scientific team arrived at the spot and launched a probe into the matter.
The CCTV footage is being examined and efforts are on to identify and nab the burglars, said the police.
