Bhubaneswar, August 21: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi expressed deep grief over the death of veteran Odia singer Pranab Patnaik, describing his demise as an irreparable loss to the state’s art and cultural landscape.
In a condolence message, Majhi said Patnaik had captivated generations of people across Odisha with his timeless voice and musical excellence. The acclaimed singer was the recipient of several prestigious honours, including the Jayadeva Award, Odisha Sangeet Natak Akademi Award and State Film Award.
“His melodious voice and timeless music will remain immortal in the hearts of every Odia,” Majhi said.
The Chief Minister conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and the countless admirers of the legendary singer. He also prayed to Lord Jagannath for the eternal peace of the departed soul.
