Bhubaneswar, September 13: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi received a grand welcome at Biju Patnaik International Airport here on Sunday after returning from a three-day official visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) aimed at attracting investment to the state.

Majhi arrived in Bhubaneswar this afternoon after concluding the investment outreach programme in the UAE. He was welcomed at the airport by ministers, BJP MLAs and party workers, who greeted him with flower bouquets.
During his three-day visit, which began on September 8, the Chief Minister showcased Odisha as a preferred destination for global investment, manufacturing and technology.
According to a statement issued by the Odisha government, the UAE outreach generated proposed investments worth Rs 2.43 lakh crore, with the potential to create around 6.18 lakh employment opportunities in the state.
The visit was part of the state government's efforts to attract large-scale investments and strengthen Odisha's position as an emerging hub for manufacturing, technology and other key sectors.
Majhi's return to the state was marked by a strong show of support from party leaders and workers, who gathered at the airport to welcome the Chief Minister following the successful conclusion of his UAE investment outreach programme.
