Bhubaneswar, June 13: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Friday announced a hike in the daily duty call-up allowance for Home Guards and daily allowance for Civil Defence Volunteers.
According to the new decision, the daily duty call-up allowance for Home Guards has been hiked from Rs 612 to Rs 623 and this revised amount will be effective from January 1, 2025.
On the other hand, the daily allowance for Civil Defence Volunteers has been increased from Rs 31 to Rs 150, and the daily training allowance has been increased from Rs 28 to Rs 140. This revised allowance will be applicable from May 1, 2025.
Currently, there are fewer than 700 Civil Defence Volunteers in the state.
CM Majhi expressed hope that this decision will encourage more people to join civil defence services in Odisha.
