Bhubaneswar, Sept 15: Marking a significant step forward in Odisha’s industrial growth, Chief Minister Mohan Majhi on Monday laid the foundation for a total of 27 industrial projects worth a combined capital investment of over Rs 25,000 crore.

The projects, spread across 12 districts of the state, are expected to create more than 52,000 employment opportunities for the state's youth.

The ceremony was organized by the Industries Department at OUAT’s (Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology) Convention Centre in Bhubaneswar.

Addressing the gathering, CM Majhi highlighted that the new projects demonstrate the increasing confidence of the industrial sector in Odisha. "Each new investment in Odisha is a testament to the trust industries have in our policies and governance. We are dedicated to establishing Odisha as the manufacturing hub of eastern India, advancing through the manufacturing value chain, and producing high-value products capable of competing on the global stage," he stated.

Emphasizing the government's achievements, CM Majhi pointed out that in just 15 months, his administration has approved 260 industrial projects worth Rs 5.6 lakh crore, which are expected to generate 3.6 lakh jobs.

In the same timeframe, the foundation for 84 projects, with investments exceeding Rs 2 lakh crore, has been laid, creating 1.64 lakh job opportunities. He Minister assured industrialists of a favorable business environment in the state, emphasizing that bureaucratic obstacles have been eliminated and sector-specific incentives are now available.

“The administration is always prepared to support investors and address their concerns without delay,” he assured.

CM Majhi also highlighted the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam 2.0’ campaign, urging industries to take an active role by planting trees in and around their operational zones.

He announced that on September 17, coinciding with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 75th birthday, Odisha has pledged to plant 75 lakh trees in a single day. "Development and environmental conservation must go hand in hand," he emphasized.

At the event, CM Majhi honored industrialists involved in the new projects and virtually laid the foundation for projects in Ganjam, Khordha, Jharsuguda, Koraput, and Angul districts.

In his address, Industries Minister Sampad Chandra Swain highlighted that Odisha's industry-friendly environment and efficient administration have made the state a top choice for investment.

Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja emphasized that determination and willpower are key to achieving success, while Development Commissioner Anu Garg also shared her insights with the gathering.

Additional Chief Secretary (Industries) Hemant Sharma delivered the welcome address, and Skill Development Commissioner Bhupendra Singh Poonia concluded the event with a vote of thanks.
