Bhubaneswar, Nov 28: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Thursday urged children to not only dream big but also put in the effort needed to make those dreams a reality.

"Even the king of the jungle, the lion, must work hard to catch its prey. Similarly, while dreaming is important, effort is equally crucial," Majhi said.

"The bigger the canvas of your dreams, the larger the picture you can create," he said while addressing children at the launch of the Usha program organized by the State Child Protection Committee under the Department of Women and Child Development.

The event, held at Kalinga Stadium, saw the participation of around 580 children from 165 childcare centers across the state. It featured the state-level children’s festival, held on November 26-27, and the two-day children’s sports festival, Usha, which took place on November 28-29. Majhi described the program as a "stepping stone" for the children's growth and urged them to harness their full potential.

He further inspired the young audience by drawing on the stories of legendary figures from Indian mythology.

"Every child in our country carries the skill of Ekalavya, the courage of Abhimanyu, the devotion of Prahlad, and the wisdom of Ashtavakra," Majhi said, encouraging them to take inspiration from these figures as they work toward their goals.
