Bhubaneswar, July 20: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has expressed profound grief over the demise of two devotees who died while undergoing treatment after falling ill during the Rath Yatra in Puri on July 16.

The deceased have been identified as Anil Das of Cuttack and Ashok Subare Raikar of Mumbai.

Conveying his condolences to the bereaved families, the Chief Minister announced financial assistance of ₹10 lakh each from the Chief Minister's Relief Fund (CMRF) to the next of kin of the deceased.

Notably, several devotees were injured in a stampede like situation during chariot pulling of deities on the grand road of Puri.
