Bhubaneswar, June 2: The State Transport Authority (STA), Odisha, has revised bus fares across different categories following a recent increase in diesel prices. The new fare structure came into effect on June 2, 2026.

As per the revised rates, passengers travelling in ordinary buses will now pay 92 paise per kilometre, compared to the previous fare of 90 paise per kilometre. The fare for express buses has also been increased from 94 paise to 96 paise per kilometre.

For deluxe buses, the fare has been raised from ₹1.31 to ₹1.35 per kilometre. Similarly, passengers travelling in AC deluxe buses will now be charged ₹1.63 per kilometre, up from ₹1.59 per kilometre.

The highest hike has been recorded in the super deluxe category, where the fare has increased from ₹2.47 to ₹2.53 per kilometre.

According to the STA notification, the fare revision has been necessitated by the recent rise in diesel prices, which has significantly increased operating costs for bus operators across the state.
