Puri, Aug 5: Just hours after a man from Gujarat was caught trying to enter into the premises of Jagannath Temple in Odisha’s Puri with a hidden camera fitted inside his glasses, police detained another youth hailing from West Bengal for similar offence on Tuesday morning.
As per reports, the individual, whose identity has not been disclosed yet, was held by security personnel near the Paschima Dwara (West Gate) of Srimandir while he was trying to enter the 12th century shrine by wearing spectacles with hidden camera.
He has been detained, and both his mobile phone and glasses have been seized.
The shocking incident, coming just a day after a similar security breach at the temple, has sparked outrage among devotees and highlighted significant gaps in the temple's surveillance system.
It is worth noting that one Bipul Patel, a native of Gujarat, was caught attempting to enter the temple with glasses fitted with a spy camera on Monday. Suspicious of his actions, temple security personnel apprehended him while he was near the 'Kirtana Chakada' area and discovered the hidden camera in his spectacles.
He was promptly detained for further questioning.
