Balangir, Oct 5: In a shocking incident, a 75-year-old man allegedly committed suicide by jumping off a river bridge near Dhanghara in Odisha’s Balangir district on Sunday.
The deceased has been identified as Kirti Rana of Dhanghara village under Tushura area.
According to reports, Rana was involved in a dispute with his neighbour over personal issues on Saturday. The next morning, around 10 a.m., he allegedly jumped off the Tel River bridge near Dhanghara.
Upon getting the information, Tushura and Gudvella police arrived at the spot and fished out the body. Subsequently, it was sent for post-mortem.
An investigation has been initiated into the matter to ascertain the circumstances that led to the elderly man’s death, said the police.
