Bhubaneswar, June 19: Odia Samaj Frankfurt organized a colorful “Raja Mahotsav” on Sunday, June 14, bringing together over 400 members of the diaspora. The celebration marked the traditional festival of womanhood and was one of the largest cultural events hosted by the organization for the Odia, Indian, and local German communities in Frankfurt.
The event was formally inaugurated by the president of the organization, Shri Prapat Tripathy, who welcomed all guests. The festival was jointly inaugurated by Shri Bibhakanta Sharma, Consul and Head of Chancery at the Indian Embassy, along with other community leaders.
The celebration featured a rich cultural lineup including classical Indian dance forms such as Odissi, Kuchipudi, Bharatanatyam, and Kathak, along with Bollywood performances. A special highlight of the event was an engaging handloom textile fashion show showcasing Odisha’s traditional attire for both adults and children.
Guests enjoyed a variety of traditional Odia delicacies prepared by community members, including poda pitha, chhena poda, kakara, and dahi bara aloo dum. An Odia-style tea stall and multiple cultural exhibition stalls further enhanced the festive atmosphere.
Children actively participated in various activities, making the event a family-friendly celebration. At the conclusion of the program, General Secretary Shri Subhra Ranjan Pal distributed gifts and certificates to artists and participants, while Vice President Shri Sanjay Barik delivered the vote of thanks, bringing the event to a close.

Established in 2016, Odia Samaj Frankfurt continues to unite the Odia diaspora, preserve cultural heritage for future generations, support newcomers in settling abroad, and promote Odia traditions and values through such community gatherings.
