Speaking to the media following a high-level meeting, Mahaling stated that the state government will adhere to the guidelines issued by the Centre to manage any outbreaks.

He also advised residents to remain vigilant and seek medical testing if they experience symptoms like cold, cough, or fever, which are commonly associated with respiratory infections.

The Health Minister’s remarks came after increasing concern about HMPV, which can cause respiratory issues, particularly in children and the elderly.

Mahaling assured that the government is monitoring the situation closely and will take necessary steps to ensure public safety.

He urged citizens to continue practicing health protocols, including wearing masks and maintaining hygiene, to prevent the spread of any potential infections.
