Delhi, May 14: Newly sworn-in CJI Justice Bhushan Gavai on Wednesday sought blessings from his mother before assuming office of the Apex Court.
He bowed down before his elderly mother and touched her feet with tearing eyes who nourshied and nurtured him, to be the head of the highest and most coveted judiciary institution of the nation.
On the other hand, the CJI’s mother Kamaltai Gavai said, " Always stay blessed to serve justice to the nation and its citizens".
Worth mentioning, today Justice Bhushan Gavai took oath as the 52th Chief Justice of India (CJI). Earlier on Tuesday, Justice Gavai’s mother said, her son has reached this position through his sheer hard work and determination. He earned this reward today by serving the poor and needy, bestowing due justice to them in time. Meanwhile, she expressed her joy with confidence and said her son will keep-up the dignity of his chair and role, as the CJI.
Justice Gavai is a native of Amravati district in Maharashtra. His father late R S Gavai was former Governor of Bihar, Kerala and Sikkim and and also an ace political thinker.
