New IRCTC Website to Launch by July 15 Following Student Feedback: Ashwini Vaishnaw

Jaipur, June 11 : Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Thursday announced that a revamped IRCTC website will be launched by July 15, responding to complaints from students regarding difficulties faced while booking train tickets.

During an event in Rajasthan, students highlighted issues with the current website, particularly the CAPTCHA verification process. Taking note of the concerns, Vaishnaw directed officials to expedite the development of a new and improved platform, assuring that the upgraded website would be operational within 30 days.

During his visit to Jaipur, the minister also announced the establishment of an Advanced Quantum Computing and Quantum Communications Lab at Malaviya National Institute of Technology, Jaipur, under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology's academic project. The facility will focus on quantum computing, quantum key distribution, and quantum sensing technologies to strengthen India's indigenous capabilities in emerging technologies.

Vaishnaw said that while artificial intelligence is driving the current technological revolution, quantum technology will lead the next major wave of innovation. He also announced that MNIT students will gain access to Lam Research's Semiverse semiconductor training platform.

The minister further inaugurated a 20 KW Akashvani FM transmitter at Ramgarh in Jaisalmer via virtual mode. The new transmitter, Rajasthan's 39th FM station, will provide radio coverage across nearly 20,000 sq km in the border region, benefiting residents with educational, informational, and entertainment content.

Emphasising the future of broadcasting, Vaishnaw urged Prasar Bharati to adopt a "Digital First" and "Hyper-Local" approach and called for greater inclusion of local artists and artisans in the broadcasting ecosystem.
