Bargarh, August 29: Three members of a family from Jampali village under Sadar block in Bargarh district have reportedly gone missing following devastating floods in Nepal.

The missing persons have been identified as Gunnam Jayakrishna, his wife Gunnam Saibindu Kumari, and their two-year-old daughter Harshita. Their disappearance has left the family members back home deeply worried and anxious.

Jayakrishna was working at a hydropower project in Nepal and had been staying there with his wife and daughter. He used to remain in regular contact with his family members in Odisha over the phone. However, communication with the family has remained cut off since the floods struck, raising concerns about their safety.

Distressed over the lack of information, Jayakrishna’s family approached the district administration on Friday seeking help in tracing the missing family.

Jayakrishna’s father, Gunnam Bhora Venkat Rao, met the Sub-Collector and apprised him of the situation. Following the meeting, he was directed to approach the District Labour Officer, where he subsequently submitted a written complaint seeking assistance.

Bargarh Collector Aditya Goyal said that efforts have been initiated by the district administration to trace and rescue the missing family members.
