Bhubaneswar, Sep 13: National Medical Records Day was observed at the SUM Ultimate Medicare here on Tuesday to highlight the importance of maintaining accurate records.
An informative session was conducted for the hospital staff with focus on the current year’s theme ‘Empowering Health Through Accurate Records’.
The department also made presentations to highlight the collection, maintenance and keeping of accurate records.
The program was inaugurated by SUMUM’s Chief Executive Officer Dr. Swetapadma Dash who stressed on the department’s importance as the backbone for the hospital’s smooth functioning.
The hospital’s Chief of Medical Services, Brig. (Dr.) Biraj Mohan Mishra, Medical Superintendent Dr. Prashant Kumar Pamda, Head of Department of Medical Records Dr. Manas Ranjan Sethi, doctors, nurses and other employees were present.
While Dr. Sethi spoke about the legal aspects of medical record keeping, Brig. (Dr.) Mishra focused on ‘Digitalisation of Medical Records’. Ratikanta Barik highlighted the day to day process of documentation of medical records.
