Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train project to be operational by 2029: Railway Minister Vaishnaw

Delhi, Sept 27: The Mumbai- Ahmedabad Bullet Train project to be operational by 2029 said, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.

Lauding the rapid growth of India’s first Bullet Train Project, Vaishnaw said that the first part of the bullet train project, beginning from Surat and stretching to Bilimora.

Responding to the presser’s queries the Railway Minister said, the 50-km stretch of India's first bullet train project between Surat and Bilimora section in Gujarat will be operational by 2027.

The Thane-Ahmedabad section will be commissioned latest by 2028, and by 2029, the entire Mumbai-Ahmedabad section will be readied for operation," the Union Minister told reporters.

With the completion of the first bullet train route in India between Mumbai and Gujurat, the project will shrink the journey-time to just about 2 hours as the speed potential of the main line is 320 kmph and 80 kmph for the loop line.

Vaishnaw visited the under-construction Surat bullet train station and inspected track installation works and its first turnout installation.Meanwhile, he reviewed the project developments from the ground-zero and expressed pleasure over the team work.
