Monsoon begins to retreat from Odisha; IMD issues yellow warning for several districts

Bhubaneswar, Oct 14: The southwest monsoon has begun its retreat from Odisha, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) confirming that conditions are now favorable for its withdrawal from the state.

As the monsoon recedes, moderate rainfall is currently being recorded in Ganjam district. The IMD has forecast rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning in several districts over the next two days.

The department has also warned of gusty winds blowing at speeds of 30 to 40 kmph in some areas.

With rainfall likely to continue till Wednesday, the IMD has issued a Yellow Warning for multiple districts, urging residents to stay alert and take necessary precautions.
