Mission Shakti stalls at IITF win hearts, many accolades

New Delhi, Nov 19: The Mission Shakti brand has been pulling crowds since the beginning of 43rd India International Trade Fair running at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.
The products promoted by women SHG members like Kandhamal Haldi and millet based food products along with Golden grass and Sabai crafts are in larger demand by customers across India and abroad.
This year Odisha has showcased the iconic SHG products from Balasore, Kandhamal , Kendrapara , Khordha and Jajpur in five stalls out of the 25 stalls placed in the pavilion, said an official.
A SHG member Phulamani Soren who is taking part in IITF for the first time told how her stall is making good business from the Lac based handicrafts like dolls and bangles etc.
Appreciating government for their concerted efforts , another member Poornima Behera has opined that her SHG’s millet based food products like noodles, biscuits, fries and fritters are pulling large crowds.
Similar demands are also observed for handmade silk sarees and other decorative items made by Odia artisans. The state government has geared up elaborate steps to project Odisha’s reputation in culture , creativity and industrial advancement around the globe.
