Bhubaneswar, June 19: President Droupadi Murmu will arrive in Odisha on a two-day visit beginning Friday and participate in a series of official engagements in Mayurbhanj district. She will also attend the Odisha government’s two-year completion programme at Dandabose, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will be present.
According to the schedule, the President will depart from Kalaikunda Air Base in West Bengal by an Indian Air Force MI-17 helicopter at 2:45 pm on Friday and reach Dandabose Airport at 3:15 pm. In the evening, she will inaugurate a mega health camp being organised by AIIMS at the Rairangpur Sub-Divisional Government Hospital. Later, she will proceed to her residence in Rairangpur, where she will stay overnight.
On Saturday, President Murmu will leave Dandabose Airport at 10:20 am and travel by helicopter to Dighibeda Helipad before proceeding by road to her native village, Pahadpur. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to arrive in Mayurbhanj the same day and will meet the President at around 11:15 am.
The President and the Prime Minister will jointly visit a residential school and a skill development centre, where they will review initiatives undertaken in the fields of education and skill development.
Later, President Murmu will return to Dandabose to attend the Odisha government’s special programme marking two years of governance. A short film titled “Bikashara Dhara, Odisha Sara” will be screened during the event.
The President is slated to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for several major development projects, including railway infrastructure works and a new project of Bharat Coal Gasification and Chemicals Limited (BCGCL). Addressing the gathering, both President Murmu and Prime Minister Modi are expected to highlight the state’s development journey and future roadmap.
Following the conclusion of the programme, the President and the Prime Minister will return to New Delhi.
