Bhadrak, Ap 7: Bhubaneswar police conducted a major action operation targeting eight mafia houses in Bhadrak, arresting six individuals and seizing cash and weapons. During the raids, ₹20 lakh in cash, three firearms, and five rounds of ammunition were confiscated.

The crackdown, led by SP Manoj Rout, involved eight teams and six platoons of police personnel. The raids were carried out across multiple locations under Bhadrak Purana Bazar police station, including Santhia, Alalpur, Nangamahala, and Gujidarada outpost.

According to officials, during the Santhia raid, one mafia member attempted to escape by jumping from the roof, but armed suspects on the ground were apprehended by the police. Another dramatic incident occurred during a raid at Sekh Babi’s residence, where a suspect was found hiding behind a bathroom door. Three individuals were taken into custody in this operation.

The raids, which began at 3 am., resulted in the seizure of firearms, ammunition, and fiber materials from the gang members’ houses. The operation included the presence of three magistrates along with district revenue and administration officials.
