Boudh, Oct 8: A tragic road accident claimed the life of a 58-year-old man near Krushnapali Chhak under Purunakatak police limits in Harabhanga block of Boudh district late Tuesday night. The deceased has been identified as Prafulla Behera, a resident of Krushnapali village.

According to reports, Prafulla Behera was returning to his village from Tileswar when a speeding motorcycle hit him from behind. The impact of the collision threw him several feet away, causing severe injuries to his head.

Locals and family members rushed him to Boudh District Headquarters Hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

The motorbike involved in the accident was reportedly carrying a young man named Ganga, who also sustained critical injuries. He has been referred to VIMSAR, Burla, for advanced treatment.

As of now, no official case has been registered with the police in connection with the incident. Further investigation is awaited.
