Cuttack, July 26: Cuttack Cyber Police has arrested a man in connection with a fraud case involving a promise of a junior assistant job in the District Collector’s office. The accused has been identified as 24-year-old Satyajit Nayak from Athagarh Khuntakata.
According to police reports, a woman from Cuttack filed a complaint on Friday alleging that Satyajit Nayak had promised her a junior assistant position in the District Collector’s office in exchange for Rs3 lakh. The woman reportedly met the accused at a studio where the promise was made. Following the payment, Satyajit provided her with appointment papers. However, when she visited the District Collector’s office, she discovered that the job was fraudulent.
Following the complaint, the Cyber Police arrested Satyajit Nayak. Further investigations revealed that he had allegedly defrauded eight other individuals in a similar manner. CPS Dev Dutta Singh disclosed these details during a press briefing.
