Berhampur, August 11: A major robbery was reported from the Digapahandi area of Ganjam district, where unidentified miscreants allegedly looted gold and silver ornaments worth around ₹60 lakh along with ₹8 lakh in cash from a house.

According to reports, the burglars broke into the residence of retired headmaster Bhaskar Sahu after breaking the locks and fled with around 30 bhari of gold ornaments, 50 bhari of silver ornaments and ₹8 lakh in cash.

Following the incident, Digapahandi police reached the spot and launched an investigation. A scientific team from Berhampur and a dog squad have also been deployed to collect evidence and trace the suspects.

Police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the robbery and efforts are underway to identify and apprehend those involved.
