Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha adjourned for four consecutive days amid SIR, Operation Sindoor Protests

New Delhi, July 24: Both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha were adjourned for the day on Thursday amid continued Opposition protests over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list in Bihar and Operation Sindoor. This marks the fourth consecutive day of disruptions.

In Lok Sabha, protests erupted during a discussion on a bill related to Scheduled Tribes in Goa, leading Chairperson Krishna Prasad Tenneti to adjourn the House. Speaker Om Birla had earlier adjourned proceedings till 2 PM due to sloganeering, warning members against behavior that disrespects the dignity of the House.

In Rajya Sabha, proceedings were halted during a discussion on the Carriage of Goods by Sea Bill, with MP Bhubaneshwar Kalita adjourning the House following Opposition slogans.

Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi reiterated demands for a discussion on the SIR issue, saying the House can function once the Centre responds. He stressed that Parliament must reflect the people's voice and called on Prime Minister Modi to address the issue.

Both Houses will reconvene on Friday at 11 AM.
