New Delhi, Aug 22: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has filed an affidavit in the Supreme Court confirming that the list of about 65 lakh (6.5 million) voters—omitted from the draft electoral roll published on August 1—has been successfully posted on the websites of all 38 District Electoral Officers (DEOs) in Bihar.

The affidavit specifies that the list includes reasons for exclusion such as death, relocation, or duplicate entries.

In addition, physical copies have been displayed at Panchayat Bhavans, Block Development Offices, and other local administrative buildings to ensure villagers have easy access and opportunities to inquire.

Public notice of this publication has been circulated through major newspapers, broadcast on radio and television, and shared via social media to increase awareness.

Furthermore, the ECI's public notices explicitly state that any voters aggrieved by their exclusion can submit claims accompanied by Aadhaar cards.
