New Delhi, October 5: The Supreme Court is scheduled to hear a plea on Monday filed by Gitanjali J Angmo, the wife of climate activist Sonam Wangchuk, challenging his detention under the National Security Act (NSA). She is seeking his immediate release.

As per the Supreme Court’s cause list for October 6, the petition will be presented before a bench comprising Justices Aravind Kumar and N V Anjaria.

Wangchuk was detained on September 26 under the stringent National Security Act, just two days after violent protests in Ladakh demanding statehood and Sixth Schedule status for the region resulted in four deaths and 90 injuries.
