Bhubaneswar, Nov 4: In a tragic turn of events, ‘Kumki’ trained elephant - Yashoda died at Chandaka Forest Range, RCCF Prakash Chand Gogineni informed.
It was 36 and was undergoing treatment for a couple of days.
Though the forest Range officials treated the animal with the help of veterinarians, however, it succumbed to its ailment.
The loss of this majestic creature is mourned by wildlife enthusiasts and the local community.
Notably, the animal was used to tranquilize the tigress Sundari in the Satkosia forest in Angul district in 2018.
Worth mentioning, Odisha Forest Minister Ganesh Ram Singh Khuntia has ordered a detailed inquiry into the unnatural death of elephants in the state over in the current year.
