Puri, Aug 4: The vibrant atmosphere of the Jhulana Yatra has begun at the Srimandir and various temple complexes in Puri. This festival will continue for seven days, celebrating with devotion and grandeur.
Today, after the madhyan dhupa, the deities Lord Madanmohan, Bhudevi, and Shridevi will be ceremoniously installed in the beautifully decorated Jhulana Kunj as per divine instructions.
At the Muktimandap, Lord Madanmohan will perform the traditional Pravrutta Raas, also known as the Sharata Raas, inside the attractively constructed swing pavilion.
The Jhulana festival is not limited Srimandir rather, it is performed at various other temples and several homes across Puri will also display their own Jhulana decorations.
Artisans begin crafting these exquisite swing pavilions almost a month in advance, ensuring purity and artistry in every detail. To enhance the beauty of the Jhulan Kunj, natural materials like jari, jambura sola, colors, and new leaves are skillfully used.
The pavilion also features sacred plants, animals, and birds as symbolic witnesses, along with fragrant flowers and fruits, adding to the sanctity and charm of the celebration.
