Jajpur, July 15: Two unidentified miscreants allegedly looted a jewellery trader after firing a blank shot on Ghantiali Road under Binjharpur police limits in Odisha's Jajpur district on Tuesday night.
According to a complaint filed with Binjharpur Police, the accused intercepted the trader and decamped with around 30 grams of gold, 4 kg of silver ornaments, and ₹10,000 in cash.
The victim, Chandan Sahu, owns a jewellery shop at Mainda Chhak. The robbery took place while he was returning home after closing his shop.
On receiving information, Binjharpur Police, along with the Jajpur Town SDPO, rushed to the spot and launched an investigation. Police have initiated raids at multiple locations to identify and nab the accused. Further investigation into the incident is underway.
